Gainax is the animation company responsible for producing Gurren Lagann.

History Edit

Gainax was founded as Daicon films by college students Hideaki Anno, Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, Takami Akai and Shinji Higuchi in the early 1980s. Their debut film was a project for the 1983 science fiction animation festival. They started filming parody films soon after before changing their name to Gainax in 1985.
