The original form of the Gurren. It had a red face on its chest and yellow eyes. It was an unusually large Gunmen piloted by a captain level beastman. It had two large sword-like weapons used for combat. While powerful, it was not as strong as Gunmen given to Generals. Kamina jacked it from its pilot and used it, and Lagann, to defeat the other two Gunmen. The Gunzar was heavily damaged in the fight and was later repaired using the remains of the other two enemy Gunmen to create, The Gurren (See Gurren-Lagann ) . It seems to have had weak limbs, as both Kamina's "Who the hell do you think I am kick!" and "Hands off my beloved little brother punch!" in episode 2 broke its arms and legs.
